Ø       356 BCE -- Birth of Alexander III of Macedon to Philip II and Olympias

Ø       336 BCE -- Alexander ascends to the throne after his father’s death

Ø       334 BCE -- Alexander crosses into Asia to continue the campaign begun by his

           father

Ø       333 BCE -- Battle of Issus between Alexander and Darius

Ø       331 BCE -- Foundation of Alexandria (in Egypt)
