Amos-Abanyie, Emmanuel Wed Emmanuel earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Honors in Sociology from Davidson College in May 2004. He founded the Educational Accessibility for Children in Hardship, a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to increasing educational accessibility for talented but underprivileged children in Africa. He also served as the 2004/2005 Hearst Teaching Fellow at the Charlotte Country Day School in Charlotte, NC. His interest is in international development.
Arora, Punit Thu I am Chartered Financial Analyst and an Indian Civil Services Officer. I was working as Deputy Commissioner of Police at North Delhi before joining Maxwell School. Prior to this job, I have worked as District Chief of Police at Shimoga, Haveri, Tirap, Tawang and East Kameng Districts in India. I have also operated my own consulting company to assist small business and NGOs manage their finances. My first job was as a Finance Executive with an American company called Proagro Seeds Limited.

Bishop, Ellen Thu I graduated from St. Lawrence University in May 2003 with a double major in Spanish and Economics and a minor in Policitical Science.  Following graduation, I worked doing logistics and marketing for two years in NYC at a small export management firm, who represented small to medium sized industrial hardware (burners, valves, etc) factories abroad for foreign clients.  I recently was married and have moved with my husband to his hometown in Jordan to complete my masters degree in Economics and International Relations.  Following graduation, I hope to work in Washington doing international economic development in Latin America.

My international relations interests are humanitarian issues, human rights and intercultural communications. I am particularly interested in non-profits that utilize the arts in combination with humanitarian aid (such as FilmAid). My regional interests are Europe and Latin America.
Bollineni, Raja Gopal Naidu Wed I earned a Bachelors Degree and a Masters Degree in Political Science from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India. On the basis of a highly competitive examination I got selected for the most coveted civil services of India, i.e.Indian Administrative Service. I held important positions in the Government as Head of the District Administration, Head of a Department. Currently I am working as a Director in the Ministry of Personnel and Training,Government of India and as a part of the Government policy to provide longterm training for mid-career executives, I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Public Administration, Programme in Maxwell School .

Danckaert, Carolyn Wed Prior to entering the joint MPA/M-IR program at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in the summer of 2005, Carolyn served as the Midwest Peacebuilding Program Director for the American Friends Service Committee, a progressive advocacy and humanitarian aid organization. Prior to this position, she served as the executive director or field organizer for a number of U.S.-based non-profit organizations in addition to working or volunteering on several electoral campaigns. Carolyn received degrees in the Biological Sciences and English Literature from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) in 1999. Her areas of concentration at the Maxwell School at in Public and Nonprofit Management and Global Development Policy.
Dickinson, Jenny Thu I have lived in and been educated in Syracuse all of my life.  I completed my bachelors degree from Le Moyne College in 2003.  My senior year I interned as a Child Life Therapist in a Pediatric Oncology unit.  Here I became acquainted with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY and nonprofits in general which in turn lead me to Maxwell's PA program.  I have a two year old daughter named Isabel and a ten month old son named Nathaniel.  I work full time for SU in Bird Library.  I love to travel particularity abroad and have thus far visited France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Spain and Portugal.
Fang, Yingbi Wed After graduation from a Chinese university located in Southwesten China, I have been working for a local foreign service for three years. I felt that my knowledge learned from campus were far from my expectation during work and decided to improve myself in Maxwell School, Syracuse University. My interest is in global development, expecially sino-us relations.
Fernandez, Jonathan Thu Born in Mexico City, Mexico.  Emigrated to the United States in 1989. Attended the University of Southern California graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Languages and Cultures with an empahsis in Japanese. Prior to attending Syracuse, I served as an intern for the California-Mexico Trade Assistance Center, advising small and medium sized businesses on the federal regulations and requirements to import/export goods between the U.S. and Latin America.  My academic interests and professional aspirations revolve around International Trade and all of its dimensions (economic, social and political), particularly between Latin America and East Asia, as well as their individual relationships with the U.S.

Goddard, Debra Wed Debra S. Goddard is a GS-14 Budget Analyst. Before entering the DCP she was a Team Leader, Resource Managemen-Budget, HQ Installation Management Agency in Arlington, VA. After graduation she will be a Financial Management Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller) Resource Analysis and Business Practices Directorate at the Pentagon. Debra has served 10 years of civil service as an Army Civilian, for Aviation and Troop Command (St. Louis), Aviation and Missile Command and PEO Aviation (Huntsville, AL). She also has 20+ years experience in private industry accounting (Commercial Banking, Construction, Retail, Wholesale, Construction and service industries). Debra has a BachelorÕs Degree in Business Administration (accounting emphasis) (1994), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (1995), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) (2000), and Member Army Acquisition Corps (AAC) (2003)
Gueye, Ababacar On-line I graduated from a French Grande Ecole (ENSAM) in 1999 before working as project manager in the private sector. First of all I joined large organizations of France as consultant, dealing with the military (THOMSON– DASSAULT) and afterwards with the telecommunication (ALCATEL) industry. In 2002 I moved in UK, initially contracted by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to manage the branch of a French company for marketing and sales activities. Finally I joined a small company to coordinate worldwide inspectors on behalf of contractors (Bechtel, KBR…) of the oil and gas industry for the construction of oil platforms and civil buildings.
Han, Young-Il On-line Captain Young-Il Han is the Chief of Military Equal Opportunity, 42d Air Base Wing, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL. He serves as the wing staff officer responsible to the 42d Air Base Wing Commander for the equal opportunity andtreatment program, ensuring that the mission environment is free from
unlawful discrimination and sexual harassment. Capt. Han entered the Air Force in 1998 as a graduate of the Air Force Officers Training School. His initial assignment was as a Squadron Section Commander with the 963d Airborne Air Control Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. His next assignment was at Royal Air Force Lakenheath where he served as the Chief of Customer Support. In 2002, Capt Han was selected to serve as an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Syracuse University. He attended the Basic Personnel Officers Course at Keesler Air Force Base MS in1999 and the Squadron Officers School (in residence) at Maxwell Air Force Base AL in 2005. Capt. Han is originally from Seoul, South Korea.
Hartman, Jessica On-line She is currently in Santiago de Chile for the fall semester studying indigenous conflicts with a Boren Fellowship from the National Security Education Program.  She recently completed the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at the Maxwell School and is expected to receive her Master of Arts in International Relations from the Maxwell School in May 2006.  Prior to working for a year as a social worker for low income families in the San Fransisco bay area, Jessica graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning.

Huynh, Phuong Lan Wed I am a graduate student of Maxwell's Executive Education Program MA in Public Administration. Before coming to the US, I was working as a Project Coordinator for the International Labor Organization (ILO) in the field of gender equality promotion and expansion of employment opportunities and poverty reduction for women. I also worked for the Australian Red Cross in HIV/AIDS projects.

Jitea, Marius (Audit) Wed I'm coming from Romania. I'm working in Romanian Government/Department for Interethnic Relations/Division for Relations with Civil Society and International Bodies as a governmental expert. Also I'm one of the shareholders of a non-profit organization - Romanian Institute for Training, which allowed me to do trainings mainly in the fields of youth policy, conflict resolution, mediation, negotiation and Romanian public administration.
Starting with 2001, I have worked in the youth field for Council of Europe throughout different training activities in Balkans(Serbia and Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia) and Republic of Moldova.
I'm  a visiting fellow on USAID scholarship administrated by Georgetown University and I'm enrolled in Executive Education Program
Johnson, Erica Wed I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2003 with a BA in Anthropology and American Studies. I've studied abroad in Greece, and I spent the summer of 2003 teaching HIV/AIDS education/prevention in Malawi through the non-profit World Camp for Kids, Inc. Last year I worked with the Centre for International Health's HIV/AIDS Initative-Africa based in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. My current hometown in Carolina Beach NC, but I have lived in Toronto, Atlanta GA, Cleveland OH, SC, and NJ. My interests lie in the international responses to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, and the cultural implications of the disease.
Khan, Atheeq Thu I am from India. I belong to the Indian Administrative Service and have spent 14 years in Government. Before coming here I was with the state government of Karnataka based in Bangalore. I was heading an Agency of the State Government charged with implementation of reforms in drinking water and sanitation sector. My agency had borrowed US $ 151 Million from the World Bank and we were facilitating implementation of community based water and sanitation project by the Village Governments.  
 I was also actively working with Unicef in Child'e Enviroment project.
Kim, Hyun Soo On-line I am from South Korea. I have worked for a city government for about 6 years and for Gyeonggi Provincial government (around Seoul) for one year and half. The government gave me a chance to study here and I'd like to get a position related to IT.
Kim, Ji Sun Wed I graduated from Ewha Womans University, Seoul, Korea with a B.A. degree in Mass Communications and Journalism in 1999. After the graduation, I worked as US CPA at PricwaterhouseCoopers IAS Seoul office for 5 years. My major duties were to provide tax related services to US expatriates and companies in Korea. Now, my intellectual desire and curiosity have finally brought me here to study International Relations. My interest is Global Development Policy.
Kim, Jung Yeon Thu I earned my bachelor's degree at Yonsei University, one of the most prestigious schools in Korea. Stimulated by Yonsei's academic and liberal atmosphere, I decided to work for government. I have worked for Ministry of Education and Human Resource Management in Korea. As a deputy director, I introduced and settled down innovative site-based management systems such as school-based budget and school governing committee. Now, these are the major channels for parents and teachers to participate in school decision making through. Another major project I have started was Rural education development plan, which are boosting education in rural, poor regions. Moving to the office of Planning and management, I initiated a series of affirmative actions for female students, teachers, and professors.
Kim, Sang Seob On-line I am from South Korea. I have served over 9 years as a deputy director at both central and  local government level. I majored International Relations at Seoul National University in Korea. Now, I live in Syracuse with my family composed of wife, two chidlren and me. I love to run. I have participated in marathon several times in Korea. Syracuse seems to be on of the most wonderful places to enjoy running. When running, I usually think about my life, my family and my viewpoint of values.

I graduated from Korea Military Academy (KMA) and earned BA in Law in 1988 and MA in Public Policy from KDI School of Public Policy and Management in 2004. I am currently majoring MAPA. I am going to back to my office in this December.

Law, Gilbert On-line Being a Senior Administrative Officer in the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, I have been engaged in improving efficiency and cost effectiveness in the provision of infrastructures, fostering public-private cooperation in the organization of community programs, and facilitating the redevelopment of run-down areas.  During my current tenure in the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, my portfolio includes putting in place policies and laws to safeguard public health, and streamlining the food business licensing regime in Hong Kong.

Marcsisin, Ronald Wed I was born in Yonkers, N.Y. and attended Prep School through College in New York City. I was interested in science when I was younger and earned a B.S. and M.S. in Biology. I worked as a Microbiologist for NYC Dept of Health and later moved to Albany where I did financial management and teaching for New York State. I also received an M.B.A. from SUNY Albany. I graduated from NYU Dental School in 1984 and completed a General Practice Residency at NYU Medical Center. I also earned an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis from the Wagner School. I practiced Dentistry for 21 years completing a Geriatric Fellowship and an M.P.H. from the University of North Texas Medical Center. I hold several Fellowships and Diplomates in Dentistry and Medicine. I am currently a 3rd year Law and an Executive MA in PA student at S.U. I am also the Supervising Dentist and Clinical Director at East Hill Medical Center in Auburn N.Y.

Having started out in the private sector, I have been working with a non profit organization for about 18 months with the responsibilities of planning and development. My interests lie in global development policy trends and in understanding and influencing systems change in this arena. The dynamics of the co-relating economic and political factors, in this regard are also of great interest to me.

Nguyen, Quy Thu Nguyen Kim Quy was a Program Officer for Development at the Danish Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam where she worked in the area of poverty reduction. She earned a BA in Sociology from the National University of Social Sciences in Hanoi. She is now a graduate student in the Executive Education program (Public Administration department) at the Maxwell of Syracuse University and will focus on the social, economic and cultural aspects of how gender issue

Ojeda Garcia, Paulina Wed Recently served as International Liason and Technical Advisor for a joint CARE International (Ecuador) and Johns Hopkins University (Bloomberg) consultancy to reform the national health care sector in Ecuador. Prior to this position, from Paulina worked four years on youth leadership and civic election monitoring programs in Latin America for the National Democratic Institute in Washington DC, focusing on the political participation of underrepresented groups and civil society in the Andean region and Guatemala. During this time, Paulina also worked as an elections training consultant with the OAS for the 2004 Salvadorian elections. Before NDI, Paulina worked for the Heinz Family Philanthropies and the Pan-American Health Organization; has completed fieldwork in stratetic planning and organizational development at NDI, and primary health care education and environmental/communication programs as part of her internships with CARE International and the Johns Hopkins University Center for Communication Programs in Ecuador, where she is originally from.  Paulina is now getting her MPA degree at Maxwell.   
Ortiz Bobea, Ariel Wed I was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I did my undergraduate and graduate studies in France. I first attended the University of Paris XI (2001) focusing on Life Sciences and Mathematics. I then entered the "Grandes Ecoles" system by joining the Institut National Agronomique Paris-Grignon, one of the ten schools of the Paris Institute of Technology, where I got my Master's degree in Agricultural Development (2004). My main interest is international development and particularly the economic development of rural populations of developing countries. I have done development work/research in Ethiopia as well as in my home country, the Dominican Republic.
Ortiz, Christopher On-line I started School at Maxwell as part of a NASA fellowship for a certificate in Public Administration in the fall of 2000.  Since then I have been attending classes (Winter / Summer / On-line) to complete my MA in Public Administration (Hope to finish in Spring 2006).  I currently live in Houston, Texas and I am working full time for the United States Government.  I am the IT Security Manager (ITSM) for the Johnson Space Center (JSC) / National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  As the JSC/ITSM I am responsible for establishing the overall direction and structure of the I/T Security Program, implementing Federal and Agency I/T security policy, and developing requirements and guidelines for the Johnson Space Center.
Park, Deok Soo On-line I am a senior deputy director of Ministry of Information & Communication of Korean Government. I have worked for 10 years at the ministry and mainly have taken charge of telecommunication regulatory policy and broadband network infrastructure. Nowadays, I have special interest for the telecom-broadcasting convergence.
Relyea, Theresa Wed A lifelong resident of Syracuse, I graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 1983 with a BA in English and secondary education certification.  After college, I chose to work for a small grassroots organization, Citizen Action, having worked for NYPIRG for several summers, and then went on to work for a retail organization in their Point of Sale Installation and Training department.  I left the workplace to raise two children until joining Transitional Living Services, a non-profit human service organization, in 1993.  There I worked in mental health services as a residential counselor, program specialist and supervisor.  In 2001, I joined Onondaga Case Management Services, Inc., as an Intensive Case Manager supporting folks who have been diagnosed with a severe and persistant mental illness.  Since 2003, I have also been working with the Office of Mental Health and the Western New York Care Coordination Program, studying Person-Centered Practices and currently serve as the coordinator and a lead trainer for the program to disseminate this philosophy and its practices throughout the mental health community in Onondaga County.   I am pursuing a MAPA degree on a part-time basis. 
Russo, Jason Wed Jason Russo graduated in 2004 from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Political Science.  He studied global governance, and concepts relating to global distributive justice and democracy.  Although he has no public or non-profit experience, he spent 6 years in a management position at UPS.  Jason would like to work in a position enabling him to help the world's least well-off in some capacity.
Schwartz, Ruth Wed I am an M.A. in P.A student at the Maxwell School. I earned a B.A. in History of Arts from the Tel Aviv University, and a M. Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology. For the last five years, I have served as a regional planner at the Ministry of the Interior’s Regional Planning Committee, in the Haifa district, Israel. I have been in charged of regulative, as well as initiative planning regarding certain areas of the region. Among other responsibilities, I have guided the procedure of master plans, consulted decision makers (on different levels) regarding planning policies and their implementation, and acted as a representative of my office in different planning committees.

My focus has been on Development Issues, Corporate Governance, Trade and Infrastructure. Some of the specific Industries I've tracked along side these have been Textiles, Steel, Information Technology, Tourism and Infrastructure Development. I have also been an active proponent of China Vs India comparisons in all economic fields.
Silva Yon, Jessica Thu I studied Economics at Universidad del Pacifico (UP) in Lima-Peru. During my last two years of studying at UP, I worked for the Research Center of UP in a diversity of projects. After graduating from college in 1997, I studied a semester abroad in the faculty of Business and Economics at Maastricht University in The Netherlands. Since I came back from Holland I was hired by Apoyo, the leading local consulting company, where I worked as a consultant in the business management area for five years.

Turner, Jared Wed Born in Salt Lake City, Utah. Grew up in La Paz, Bolivia and Barcelona, Venezuela. Attended the University of Utah with degrees in Spanish, Political Science, and Middle East Studies. I am currently a Law/MA-IR graduate student at Syracuse. Last summer I attended the Geneva Summer Practicum working for the International Labor Organization.
Xu, Xiaosong (Jack) Thu I am from China. My focus at Maxwell is Global Information Policy. I got two Master's degrees one in Chemistry, another Computer Science. I also have a B.S. in Chemistry and CIS. I worked in the US for various companies as a programmer and project manager.
Zhang, Liwei Wed After obtaining the BA degree in 1999, Zhang has worked for a private educational institute as a consultant for two years. During the two-year period of time, he focused his interests in Continued Education for employees. From 2001 to 2005, Zhang worked in the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Lijiang Municipality, Yunnan, China. His main responsibility is serve as the coordinator for the NGO projects in Lijiang as well as the programme officer. Such as the LEAP project implemented by the Regional Office of UNESCO in Asia and the Pacific on World Heritage Management. He has also worked with OXfam Hongkong. ADB and UNICEF for some poverty elimination projects. He is now a fellow of Ford Foundation pursuing a MA degree of Public Administration.
